Decoding Democracy: A Guide to Australian Politics

  • Kathleen Syme Centre – Meeting Room 4 251 Faraday St, Carlton VIC 3053, Australia (map)

Event description

Ahead of the federal election, it's the perfect time to brush up on what we're actually voting for, and why it matters.

Join us for an introductory explainer on Australian federal politics. In this 90 minute training, we will run through:

  1. What politics is, and why it matters to you

  2. What's the deal with parliament?

  3. What politicians actually do

  4. How to make an informed choice this election

This workshop requires no prior knowledge of Australian politics, and is perfect for people who are passionate about making change, but don't know where to begin.

It is facilitated by Ashleigh Streeter-Jones and Adi Rai.
